Skincare Project for Elite Aesthetics academy
Design with Intention. Educate with Purpose. Inspire with Your Vision.
The “Skincare Line Project” is a creative and educational capstone project that empowers esthetician students to design a conceptual skincare line that reflects their professional philosophy, client care goals, and branding style. Through this experience, students deepen their understanding of skin physiology, ingredient science, and product formulation—while gaining real-world insight into the business and marketing side of aesthetics.
Project Objective:
To research, design, and present a professional skincare line tailored to a specific target market or skin concern. This project fosters strategic thinking in product development, client education, and brand positioning.
Learning Goals:
Strengthen understanding of skincare formulations and active ingredients.
Apply knowledge of skin types and conditions to customized product planning.
Develop a cohesive product concept including branding, use-case, and packaging.
Explore the fundamentals of esthetic product marketing.
Build confidence in professional product recommendation and routine design.
Project Components:
Client Focus + Skin Concern Selection
Define your skincare line’s target audience (e.g., aging skin, acne-prone clients, sensitive skin, men’s skincare, etc.).
Explain the skin issues your line addresses and your treatment philosophy.
Product Line Development
Create a minimum of 4–6 product concepts:
Product name
Function (e.g., cleanser, serum, SPF, etc.)
Key ingredients and why they were chosen
Suggested use and routine placement
Benefits for the skin
Branding & Packaging Vision
Develop a brand name, tagline, and mood board
Describe the tone, packaging aesthetic, and target retail vibe (luxury, clean beauty, clinical, eco-conscious, etc.)
Client Education Component
Write a short “client-facing guide” that explains how to use the products and what results to expect.
Presentation or Portfolio Submission
Students will present their skincare line to peers or submit a digital portfolio including visuals, ingredient spotlights, and branding narrative.
Outcomes:
Upon completion, students will have a professional-grade concept for a signature skincare line that could be used as inspiration for private labeling, client care kits, or future product development ventures.
