At Elite Aesthetics Academy, safety, comfort, and optimal results are our top priorities. Whether you're a client receiving services or a student learning protocols, following proper pre- and post-care instructions is essential. Please review the guidelines below for each service type.
General Client & Student Guidelines
All services should be postponed if you have open wounds, sunburn, or active infections in the treatment area.
Always inform your provider about medical conditions, allergies, or recent skin treatments.
SPF is required daily after any skin service.
Stay hydrated and follow up with recommended home care products for lasting results.
For students: ensure all pre-treatment consultations and post-care discussions are completed with your model or client.
Universal Post-Treatment Reminders
Avoid all sun exposure before and after laser treatments—SPF 30+ daily is mandatory.
No active skincare products (retinol, acids, scrubs) for 3–7 days post-treatment.
Hydration is key—drink plenty of water and apply soothing skincare.
Always contact us if you experience unusual redness, swelling, pain, or signs of infection.
Basic Facial
Before Care:
Avoid exfoliants, acids, and retinoids 48–72 hours prior
Avoid sun exposure and waxing before your facial
Arrive makeup-free if possible
After Care:
No exfoliation, retinoids, or active skincare for 48 hours
Avoid direct sunlight and heat for 48 hours
Use gentle cleanser and hydrating moisturizer
Apply SPF daily to protect results
Body Waxing
Before Care:
Hair should be at least ¼ inch long (about 2–3 weeks of growth)
Gently exfoliate 24 hours before appointment
Avoid lotions, oils, and sun exposure before your wax
Avoid caffeine or alcohol the day of your appointment
After Care:
Avoid hot showers, saunas, exercise, and sun exposure for 24–48 hours
No exfoliating for 2–3 days
Apply soothing products like aloe or fragrance-free lotion
Exfoliate gently after 3–5 days to prevent ingrown hairs
Wear loose clothing post-treatment
Makeup Application
Before Care:
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
Moisturize skin the morning of the appointment
Inform your artist of any allergies or sensitivities
Groom brows and lips (if desired) 1–2 days prior
After Care:
Avoid touching or rubbing the face to maintain makeup
For long events, carry blotting papers or powder for touch-ups
Remove makeup thoroughly at the end of the day
Follow up with a hydrating skincare routine
Facial Waxing (Brows, Lips, Chin)
Before Care:
Do not use retinoids, acids, or exfoliants for 3–5 days before
Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds
Inform your esthetician of any medications or skin sensitivity
After Care:
Redness is normal—apply a cold compress or soothing gel
Avoid makeup, sun, and exfoliation for 24–48 hours
Use SPF daily on the treated area
Avoid touching or picking at the skin
Brow Lamination
Before Care:
Avoid retinoids and exfoliating products on the brow area for 3 days
Come with clean brows (no makeup, oils, or skincare residue)
Do not wax, thread, or tint brows within 24 hours before
After Care:
Keep brows dry for 24–48 hours
Do not apply makeup or skincare to the brow area for 2 days
Gently brush brows into place daily
Use nourishing brow oil or conditioner for hydration
Avoid heat, steam, and excessive sweating for 48 hours
Lash Lift & Tint
Before Care:
Remove all eye makeup before the appointment
Avoid waterproof mascara 24 hours before
Do not wear contact lenses during the service
After Care:
Keep lashes dry for 24–48 hours (no water, steam, or sweat)
Avoid rubbing or sleeping face-down
Do not use oil-based makeup removers or lash serums for 48 hours
Brush lashes daily to maintain shape
Results last 6–8 weeks with proper care
Injectables: Botox® / Dysport® / Dermal Fillers
Before Care:
Avoid alcohol, aspirin, NSAIDs, fish oil, and vitamin E 48 hours prior.
Discontinue retinoids 3–5 days prior.
Come makeup-free to your appointment.
Reschedule if you have an active infection or cold sore near the treatment area.
After Care (Botox/Dysport):
Remain upright for 4 hours.
Do not massage or lie on treated area for 24 hours.
Avoid heat, exercise, alcohol for 24 hours.
Full results develop within 7–14 days.
After Care (Fillers):
Expect swelling or bruising—apply cold compress gently.
Avoid alcohol, exercise, and excessive heat for 24–48 hours.
Do not massage unless instructed.
Avoid dental work for 2 weeks post-injection.
Microneedling
Before Care:
Avoid sun exposure, retinoids, and exfoliants for 5 days before.
Hydrate and come with clean skin.
No active acne, cold sores, or recent facial treatments.
After Care:
Redness and sensitivity are normal for 24–48 hours.
No makeup, sunscreen, or active skincare for 24 hours.
Use gentle cleanser and hydrating products only.
Avoid exercise, sun, and sweating for 48 hours.
Chemical Peels
Before Care:
Avoid tanning, waxing, exfoliants, and retinoids for 7 days.
Stop any skin-sensitizing products 5 days before.
After Care:
Skin will flake/peel for 3–7 days. Do not pick or peel.
Use only gentle cleanser and rich moisturizer.
Avoid sweating, hot water, sun, and exfoliation.
Use broad-spectrum SPF daily.
Laser Hair Removal
Before Care:
Shave the area 24 hours before.
Avoid sun, waxing, and self-tanners for 2–4 weeks.
No lotions, oils, or deodorant on treatment day.
After Care:
Redness/bumpiness may occur—apply aloe or cool compresses.
Avoid hot showers, exercise, and sun for 48 hours.
Exfoliate gently after 5 days to aid in hair shedding.
Use SPF daily on treated areas.
IPL Photofacial
Before Care:
Avoid sun, tanning, and self-tanners for 2–4 weeks.
Discontinue retinoids, acids, and exfoliants 5 days prior.
Shave the area if being treated on the body.
Do not use antibiotics or light-sensitizing medications.
After Care:
Pigmented spots will darken (“pepper”) and flake off within 7–10 days.
Redness or mild swelling may occur.
Do not pick or scratch treated areas.
Avoid sun exposure for 1–2 weeks. Use SPF 30+ daily.
No exfoliation or heat exposure for 3–5 days.
Hollywood Glow Laser Facial (Non-Ablative Laser Rejuvenation)
Before Care:
Avoid retinol, peels, and exfoliating treatments for 3–5 days.
No active acne, open wounds, or recent sunburn.
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
After Care:
Skin may feel warm or tight for 24 hours.
Resume gentle skincare the next day.
No active products or exfoliants for 48 hours.
SPF is essential to maintain glow and prevent pigmentation.
Can be repeated monthly for cumulative glow and clarity.
Morpheus8 RF Microneedling
Before Care:
Discontinue retinol, AHAs/BHAs, and exfoliants 5–7 days before.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 1 week.
Stop blood-thinning medications or supplements if advised by your provider.
Stay well-hydrated and arrive makeup-free.
After Care:
Expect redness, swelling, and pinpoint crusting for 1–5 days.
Do not apply makeup or active skincare for 48–72 hours.
Use gentle cleanser and hydrating serums; apply SPF daily.
Avoid sweating, saunas, and direct sun for 7 days.
No exfoliation for 1 week. Results build over 4–12 weeks.
Melasma Laser Facial
Before Care:
No sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks.
Stop retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, and hydroquinone 5 days prior (unless instructed).
Do not wax or exfoliate the skin beforehand.
After Care:
Treated areas may darken before lightening over 1–2 weeks.
Avoid sun, heat, and sweating for 72 hours.
Do not pick or peel.
Use only gentle cleanser, fragrance-free moisturizer, and zinc-based SPF.
Long-term melasma control requires consistent sun protection and pigment suppression.
Laser Tattoo Removal
Before Care:
No sun exposure or tanning on the tattooed area for 2 weeks.
Do not use makeup or lotions on the treatment area.
Shave hair if treating a body area.
After Care:
Expect redness, blistering, and scabbing for 3–7 days.
Keep the area clean and dry for the first 48 hours.
Use a non-stick bandage and healing ointment (e.g. Aquaphor) as directed.
Avoid scratching, hot water, and exercise for 2–3 days.
No sun exposure for 2 weeks.
Multiple treatments are required for complete removal.
Laser Skin Revitalization (Non-Ablative Resurfacing)
Before Care:
Stop retinoids, exfoliants, and peels 5 days prior.
Avoid sun exposure or recent facial waxing.
Stay well-hydrated and arrive with clean skin.
After Care:
Redness and mild swelling may persist for 24–48 hours.
No makeup, active skincare, or exfoliation for 48 hours.
Use a gentle cleanser and barrier-repair moisturizer.
Apply SPF daily and avoid direct sun for 7 days.
Mild flaking may occur as skin regenerates.
Permanent Makeup (PMU) – Brows / Lips
Before Care:
No alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, or ibuprofen 24 hours prior.
No chemical peels, facials, or sun exposure 7 days before.
Stay hydrated and moisturize the area in the days prior.
After Care:
Keep area clean with a gentle cleanser.
Use only the provided healing ointment.
Avoid makeup, sweating, sun, and picking scabs.
Do not submerge in water (no swimming, saunas, etc.).
Eyelash Extensions
Before Care:
To ensure the best bond and longevity of your eyelash extensions:
Arrive with clean lashes:
Remove all makeup, especially eyeliner and mascara. Lashes must be completely free of oils and debris.Avoid oil-based products:
Discontinue use of oil-based cleansers, creams, or eye makeup removers 24 hours before your appointment.No caffeine or stimulants:
Avoid coffee or energy drinks before your session—they can make it harder to relax during the service.Do not curl your lashes:
Natural lashes must be straight and free from damage for best adhesion.Remove contact lenses:
If possible, wear glasses or bring a contact lens case to remove them before the service.Plan for a quiet 1.5–2 hour session:
Lash extensions require precision and stillness. Please silence your phone and arrive on time.
After Care:
To maximize the life of your lash extensions and maintain healthy natural lashes:
First 24–48 Hours:
Avoid water, steam, and sweat:
Do not get lashes wet (no showers, facials, swimming, saunas, or heavy workouts).No rubbing or touching:
Let the adhesive cure fully without interference.Sleep on your back if possible:
Avoid sleeping face-down or on your side to prevent premature shedding.
Long-Term Maintenance:
Clean lashes daily:
Use an oil-free lash cleanser and a soft brush to remove buildup, makeup, or oils. This prevents irritation and lash mites.Avoid mascara and lash curlers:
These can break extensions and damage your natural lashes.No oil-based makeup or skincare around the eyes:
Oils weaken the adhesive bond and cause extensions to fall out faster.Brush gently with a clean spoolie:
Do this daily to keep lashes aligned and fluffy.Schedule fills every 2–3 weeks:
This maintains fullness and replaces natural lash shedding.
