Meaning, the academy offers comprehensive education covering all aspects of esthetics, preparing graduates with both practical skills aligned with Colorado state laws and essential business acumen needed in today's industry. Graduates are equipped not only to successfully pass the state board licensing exam but also to pursue careers as knowledgeable and skilled estheticians in various professional settings.
MedSpa Overview
Students will receive comprehensive training in advanced treatments like laser technologies, radiofrequency microneedling, and cosmetic injection therapy. These specialties require adherence to specific training and certification requirements set by the state of Colorado. For laser technologies, practitioners typically need certification from a recognized training program covering laser safety, operation, and skin interactions. Radiofrequency microneedling requires training in device operation, treatment protocols, and client assessment to ensure safe and effective use. Cosmetic injection therapy, including Botox and dermal fillers, necessitates completion of accredited training courses focusing on anatomy, injection techniques, and adverse event management. Additionally, practitioners must comply with state regulations for supervision and licensure, ensuring competency and safety in delivering these advanced aesthetic treatments.
Waxing
Students will acquire comprehensive knowledge of waxing techniques tailored to different areas of the body, including facial, bikini, and body waxing. They will learn the intricacies of each technique, from proper wax application and removal to minimizing discomfort and achieving smooth results. Additionally, students will be trained extensively on the importance of before and aftercare for the skin. This includes conducting thorough client consultations to assess skin conditions and sensitivities, preparing the skin appropriately for waxing, and advising clients on post-waxing care to prevent irritation, ingrown hairs, and maintain skin hydration and health. Mastery of these techniques and protocols ensures students can deliver safe, effective waxing services that enhance client satisfaction and promote long-term skin wellness.
Facials
Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of basic facial treatments and techniques essential for effective skincare practices. They will learn the significance of conducting thorough skin analyses to assess skin type, conditions, and concerns, enabling personalized treatment plans. Students will explore various exfoliation methods, such as chemical and mechanical exfoliation, understanding their benefits in promoting cell turnover, improving skin texture, and enhancing product penetration. The importance and techniques of facial massage will be emphasized, including different strokes and their therapeutic effects on circulation, lymphatic drainage, and relaxation. By mastering these fundamentals, students will be equipped to deliver tailored facial treatments that address individual client needs while promoting overall skin health and rejuvenation.
Facial Makeup
Students will receive thorough instruction in fundamental facial makeup techniques, including color correcting to neutralize skin imperfections, precise color matching for seamless foundation application, and mastery of essential tools like brushes and sponges. They will learn shadow contouring techniques to enhance facial features through light and shade manipulation, creating dimension and balance. Emphasis is placed on understanding different skin tones and types to achieve natural, flattering results. Through hands-on practice and expert guidance, students develop proficiency in these techniques, enabling them to confidently apply makeup that enhances individual beauty while meeting client preferences and needs effectively.
Skin Care
Students will gain a thorough understanding of basic skincare knowledge, covering essential aspects such as identifying different skin types and their unique characteristics. They will learn about various toners, their formulations, and specific benefits, helping them to choose the right products for different skin concerns. The curriculum emphasizes the critical role of moisturizing in maintaining skin hydration and barrier function, alongside the importance of sun protection to prevent premature aging and skin damage. Students will also become adept at performing detailed skin analyses, identifying skin conditions, and interpreting ingredient lists to select effective skincare products. This comprehensive knowledge equips them with the skills to create personalized skincare routines that enhance skin health and address individual client needs effectively.
Brow and Lash Design
Students will receive comprehensive instruction on a range of treatments including brow wax and tint, brow tint with henna, brow lamination, and lash lift and tint. They will learn how to assess client candidacy by considering factors such as skin type, allergies, and desired outcomes. For each treatment, students will master precise techniques and timing for application, ensuring optimal results tailored to individual client needs. Before treatments, students will understand the importance of thorough consultation and patch testing to prevent adverse reactions. They will also be trained extensively in post-treatment care, advising clients on maintenance routines and products to enhance and prolong results while promoting skin and lash health. By mastering these skills, students will not only deliver professional and customized treatments but also build client trust through safe practices and comprehensive care.
Advanced Exfoliation Overview
Dermaplane- Students will gain comprehensive knowledge on dermaplaning, including its exfoliation benefits, which involve the removal of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair using a surgical scalpel. They will learn about its advantages in enhancing skin smoothness, promoting deeper product penetration, and creating a flawless makeup application base. Instruction covers the necessary tools and their proper usage, as well as client candidacy factors, such as skin sensitivity and acne-prone skin considerations. Additionally, students will be trained in meticulous before and aftercare practices to ensure optimal results and minimize potential side effects like temporary redness or sensitivity.
Microdermabrasion-Students will gain comprehensive knowledge of microdermabrasion, including its mechanism involving exfoliation using fine crystals or a diamond-tipped wand, the benefits of improving skin texture and appearance, an overview of equipment like microdermabrasion machines, understanding client candidacy based on skin conditions and concerns, application techniques for safe and effective treatment, and thorough instruction on before and aftercare to optimize results and ensure client satisfaction and skin health.
Chemical Peels-Students will learn comprehensive skills including client consultation for chemical peels, assessing candidacy based on skin analysis, mastering application techniques, and providing thorough before and aftercare guidance to optimize treatment outcomes and ensure client satisfaction and safety.
Clinical Hours
OUR ESTHETICIAN CURRICULUM REQUIRES 130 CLINICAL HOURS AFTER THE INITIAL COURSE WEEKS.
Blocks of time are available for sign up. Student’s client volunteers also need to be scheduled in addition to the student’s clinical hours.
